Who We Help
You are functioning. That does not mean you are fine.
Therapy for capable, responsible adults who are tired of carrying pressure, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion behind a successful exterior.
Common experiences
- Your mind rarely turns off.
- You minimize your own needs because other people depend on you.
- You measure your worth through productivity or accomplishment.
- You feel guilty when resting.
- You become anxious when you are not in control.
- You understand your patterns intellectually but keep repeating them.
- You want your life to feel as good internally as it may look externally.

The goal is not to make you less driven
The goal is to help ambition exist alongside emotional health, connection, flexibility, and a fuller sense of self. Progress over perfection.
Questions people ask
- What does high-functioning mean in therapy?
- High-functioning describes adults who meet responsibilities, perform well at work, and appear composed while privately experiencing anxiety, exhaustion, perfectionism, or disconnection. Functioning well externally does not mean the internal experience is sustainable.
- Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?
- No. Many clients begin because something feels off, not because they have a diagnosis. If a diagnosis is clinically appropriate, your clinician will discuss it with you directly.
- Will therapy make me less ambitious?
- No. The work separates healthy ambition from fear-driven performance so your drive can coexist with rest, connection, and emotional health.
- Am I struggling enough to justify therapy?
- Yes. Therapy is not reserved for crisis. Persistent exhaustion, anxiety, or repeating patterns are enough reason to start.
- What is high-functioning anxiety?
- It is anxiety that shows up as over-preparation, overthinking, perfectionism, and difficulty resting rather than visible impairment. Output stays high while internal pressure builds.
- What is high-functioning depression?
- It describes persistent low mood, numbness, or loss of meaning in someone who continues to work, parent, and meet obligations. It is often missed because performance is maintained.
- Why do I understand my patterns but keep repeating them?
- Insight alone rarely changes behavior. Patterns persist because they once protected you, so therapy focuses on practicing new responses, not just naming old ones.
- Why do I feel guilty when I rest?
- Guilt around rest usually comes from learned beliefs that worth is earned through output. Therapy examines where that belief formed and builds tolerance for rest.
- What is over-functioning?
- Over-functioning is taking on more responsibility than is yours in work or relationships, often to manage anxiety or maintain control. It reliably leads to resentment and depletion.
- Can therapy help with perfectionism and people-pleasing?
- Yes. Both are core focuses here, addressed through boundary practice, direct communication, and reworking the beliefs underneath them.
- How long does this kind of therapy take?
- Many clients notice shifts within a few months, with deeper pattern change unfolding over longer work. Progress is reviewed with you regularly.
- Are sessions confidential?
- Yes. Sessions are confidential with narrow legal exceptions such as risk of serious harm, which your clinician explains at intake.
- Is therapy online or in person?
- All sessions are virtual, for clients physically located in Texas, Colorado, or Missouri.
- Does insurance cover this?
- Coverage varies by clinician and plan. See Rates & Insurance and verify benefits with your insurer before your first session.
- How do I get started?
- Use the Start Here page or call the office. We match you with a clinician who works with high-functioning adults and schedule a first session.
You don't have to carry it all alone.
We see you. We hear you. We honor your story. Together, we evolve.
